Terms of Service

Effective 2026-08-26

Arbitration notice: Section 9 contains a binding arbitration agreement and a class-action waiver. They affect how disputes between you and Glass Shoe are resolved. You may opt out within 30 days — see Section 9.

1. Acceptance

By using Glass Shoe you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. The service

Glass Shoe estimates how shoes fit you from foot measurements you provide (manually or via your device camera/LiDAR). Fit ratings and recommended sizes are algorithmic estimates computed from your measurements and publicly available sizing information about each shoe. They are provided for convenience only and are not guarantees of fit, comfort, or suitability. Always use a retailer's return policy. See "How fit scores work" in the app under Profile → Privacy & data for what powers the estimates and their limitations.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use Glass Shoe. Some features may require you to be 18+.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to Glass Shoe, including foot scans, measurements, and fit feedback ("User Content"). You grant Glass Shoe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, use, reproduce, modify, adapt, aggregate, and display your User Content solely in connection with operating, improving, and promoting the service — including using your fit feedback in aggregated or de-identified form to improve fit predictions for other users. This license ends when you delete your User Content or your account, except (a) for content already aggregated or de-identified so it no longer identifies you, and (b) as needed for legal compliance and backups.

You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have all rights necessary to submit your User Content and grant this license; (b) your User Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge, lawful, and does not infringe any third party's intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights; and (c) your foot scans depict your own feet (or those of someone whose consent you have). Community fit consensus reflects the opinions of other users — not statements, advice, or endorsements by Glass Shoe. We may remove or decline to display any User Content at our discretion.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service, attempt to access others' data, submit false or misleading fit feedback, or violate law.

6. Purchases, retailers, and commissions

Links to third-party retailers open the retailer's own store; your purchase there is with the retailer, under the retailer's terms, prices, and return policy — Glass Shoe is not a party to those transactions. Glass Shoe may earn an affiliate commission when you buy through retailer links, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence your fit score or the order of fit-based results. Orders placed directly in the app are governed by the order flow's stated terms.

6a. Glass Shoe Pro subscription

Core features require a paid Glass Shoe Pro auto-renewing subscription (weekly, monthly, or yearly), purchased through your Apple ID using Apple's In-App Purchase. The price of each plan is shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region. New subscribers may receive a free trial (currently 3 days). If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts automatically. Each subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price, and your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before each renewal, until you cancel. Cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Billing, refunds, and payment disputes for subscriptions are handled by Apple under Apple's Media Services terms — request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a subscription price increases, Apple notifies you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before the new price applies. Except as required by law or granted by Apple, subscription fees are non-refundable and unused trial or subscription periods are not exchanged for money.

7. Not a medical device; not medical advice

Glass Shoe provides general footwear-fit and sizing information for comfort purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or condition. Descriptive outputs such as arch category ("low / medium / high arch") and left-right asymmetry are fit inputs, not findings about your health — they are not a diagnosis of flat feet, overpronation, plantar fasciitis, or anything else, and Glass Shoe does not screen for or detect any condition. Measurements and estimates may be inaccurate. If you have foot pain, an injury, diabetes, or any other medical concern, consult a podiatrist or physician — do not rely on this app, and never delay or disregard professional advice because of something Glass Shoe showed you.

8. No warranty; limitation of liability

(a) AS-IS. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GLASS SHOE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that any measurement or fit estimate is accurate, that a recommended size will actually fit, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

(b) LIMITATION. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GLASS SHOE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS — including shoes that do not fit, purchases made using a fit estimate, and transactions with third-party retailers. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $100 OR WHAT YOU PAID GLASS SHOE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

(c) EXCEPTIONS. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law — including liability for gross negligence, fraud, willful injury, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so parts of this Section may not apply to you. In that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

8a. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Glass Shoe and its developer from any third-party claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your misuse of the service; (b) content you submit, including foot scans and fit feedback, and your representation that you own or have permission to submit it; (c) your breach of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights. This does not apply to anything caused by our own conduct, and it does not require you to indemnify us for our own negligence or misconduct. We will tell you promptly about any claim we seek indemnity for and let you control the defense, provided you defend it diligently and do not settle in a way that admits fault on our behalf or imposes any obligation on us without our consent.

9. Dispute resolution — binding arbitration and class waiver

  1. Informal resolution first. Before filing any claim, you and Glass Shoe agree to try to resolve the dispute informally for 60 days after written notice of the dispute (including your name, account email, and a description of the claim) to hello@glassshoe.app.
  2. Arbitration. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the app that is not resolved informally will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, where applicable, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules (adr.org), and not in court — except that (i) either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and (ii) either party may seek injunctive relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
  3. Class waiver. Class actions, class arbitrations, and representative actions are waived; disputes will be arbitrated only on an individual basis. If this class waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) shall proceed in court, not in class arbitration. Nothing in this Section waives your right to seek public injunctive relief where the law provides it; any such claim is severed from arbitration and heard in court, and the rest of this Section still applies to your other claims.
  4. Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement, with no effect on your use of the app, by emailing hello@glassshoe.app within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name and account email.
  5. Fees. AAA consumer fee schedules apply; Glass Shoe pays all arbitration fees beyond your consumer filing fee.
  6. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section. Applicable limitation periods are tolled while informal resolution or any AAA batching process is pending. If any part of this Section other than the class waiver is unenforceable, it shall be severed and the remainder enforced.

10. Trademarks and third-party content

Shoe brand names, model names, logos, and product images belong to their respective owners. Glass Shoe uses them only to identify the products being rated, compared, or offered. Glass Shoe is an independent app — it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any shoe brand or retailer shown, and no fit rating is a statement by any brand.

11. Copyright complaints

If you believe content in Glass Shoe infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice with the details required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3) to hello@glassshoe.app. Repeat infringers' accounts may be terminated.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means acceptance. Material changes will be re-presented for acceptance.

13. Governing law and venue

If you live outside the United States, nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and nothing requires you to arbitrate or to sue abroad where your local law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own courts. Section 9 (arbitration and class waiver) applies only where it is enforceable against you; where it is not, disputes go to the courts your local law provides.

For everyone else, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute not subject to arbitration under Section 9 (including small-claims matters and claims for public injunctive relief), you and Glass Shoe consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California. Nothing here deprives you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the state where you live, or of your right to bring a claim in your local small-claims court.

14. Termination

You may stop using Glass Shoe at any time and delete your account in Profile → Privacy & data. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms — for example by abusing the service, tampering with the app, or submitting fraudulent fit feedback. If we terminate your account without cause and you have an unused prepaid subscription period, ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Sections 4 (the license you granted, as limited there), 8, 8a, 9, 13, and 16 survive termination. You may also close your account at any time, for any reason, without giving a reason.

15. Accessibility

We want Glass Shoe to be usable by everyone, including people who use VoiceOver or other assistive technology, and we treat accessibility barriers as bugs. Because the guided camera scan is inherently visual, Glass Shoe also offers a manual measurement-entry path that needs no camera at all. If any part of the app is not accessible to you, email hello@glassshoe.app — we will help you complete a scan, get your results another way, or refund you. See our Accessibility Statement.

16. Apple

You acknowledge that:

  1. these Terms are between you and Glass Shoe only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content;
  2. your license to use the app is a non-transferable license to run it on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules (Family Sharing allowed where enabled);
  3. Glass Shoe — not Apple — is solely responsible for maintenance and support; Apple has no obligation to provide either;
  4. if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever;
  5. Glass Shoe, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory-compliance, and consumer-protection claims;
  6. Glass Shoe, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights;
  7. you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
  8. questions and complaints go to hello@glassshoe.app;
  9. you must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app; and
  10. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
